Exploring
Puerto Vallarta's North shore is well worth the experience. The
quaint seaside village of Bucerias has become a favorite vacation
spot for those looking for a peaceful hideaway and gives you a
taste of the Mexican charm of years gone by.
Visit the town plaza and church and browse around the small gift
shops and stands, where you can find an array of delightful artesian
to take home to your friends and family. Small grocery stores
selling fresh fish and shrimp, fruit and vegetables are all close by,
and you can sample the delights of the various local restaurants
- each with their unique style of cuisine.
The white sandy beaches are perfect for jogging, long peaceful walks or simply collecting shells. Here the ocean is a swimmer's delight - just bask in the gentle waves, or go body surfing and boogie boarding. In the evening, relax and watch the magnificent sunsets to make your day on the beach complete.
If you are feeling more adventurous, then fishing and whale watching trips are easily available. Take a boat to the nearby uninhabited Marietta islands, where you can go snorkeling, scuba diving, bird watching, or exploring the caves. A little further north of Bucerias, there are many other places to enjoy. Close by is the fishing village of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and the breathtaking coastal drive to Punta Mita makes your vacation on the North shore truly memorable.
